Framing Day 18 - Electrical Work

Driving past the block on Saturday, we were able to see what had been completed on Friday.

The work in the meter box to connect the three phase power had begun.

Made in England.
I didn't know that they did that anymore!

Framing Day 17 - The roof is on!

Well, partially.

By the end of Friday, the roof had been partially put on. One issue was that we have Ironstone guttering but a Surfmist roof and they had delivered Ironstone screws used to attach the roof. With other builders, the tradies would be able to go and purchase the correct screws, but not with PD. They were forced to wait quite a while. Eventually they had partially attached the roof with the Ironstone screws; the roof looked like a watermelon!

Interestingly enough, the weekend's weather was forecast to have storms and 90 km/h winds!  I wonder wonder if we'd have a roof at all come Monday!

We did. No damage to the roof (or any collateral damage to any nearby properties either).

For those interested, the roof area of our 44 sq is 254 sq m.

The rear of the house.

I could not justify the cost of the sarking.

Looking into the massive roof space.

Framing Day 14 - Plumbing Started

The plumbers (from Geelong) were also hard at work on Friday.

Um?

How they supply water and power etc to the island bench.

This is only the 44! It looks and feels huge!

Gas and Hot water points.

The Gas, Hot and Cold water points to the Alfresco.

The primary gas line (yellow) - much larger than normal.

Interesting choice of wood.

Framing Day 14 - Power Meter Box In

We visited the block on the Saturday, and found that the power meter box had been installed.

Framing Day 13 - Gutters on

I drove past the block before work. They must have put the gutters on the day before.
