Framing Day 57 - Lots done whilst we were away!

At some point we've advanced to lockup.

The last time I saw wiring like this, I was in India! The wires are labelled, thankfully!

The lights and junction points have been pulled through!

We've been plastered!

Stairwell delivered!

Build Blog - Intermission

Well, not of the build, just my ability to blog about it.

Heli and I departed to Europe for just under three weeks. She left a week before me, and I joined her a week later. So lots of time in Finland, a weekend in Paris and a few days in Saint Petersburg, which is a 4 hour train trip from Helsinki.

So, this being basically a photo blog, how could I not! :)

Helsinki. I love the architecture. The old...

...and the new.

Just below the Arctic circle. It is 11:15PM (yes, PM!) on their summer solstice.

The view from our hotel room.

An entrance to the Paris metro.

Guess what?

Surprisingly large. I'll never complain about Melbourne round abouts again!

Yes, people live here. No lifts here!

Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Saint Petersburg, the Winter Palace.

Framing Day 43 - Solar Hot Water installed!

Whilst walking back to the car, I turned to see what it looked like from the street, and I saw that the solar hot water panels has been installed. I'd asked for them to be at the end of roof, to leave roof for possibly future solar PV (or solar heating for a pool). PD install (at their cost) a second panel when it is westerly facing. With the hampton facade, you are not allowed to have it on the front (north in our case) elevations of the facade.

Framing Day 43 - Electrical and Networking begins

I was more than happy, and quite surprised to see that the minions had been busy toiling away doing the beginnings of the electrical, network and entertainment wiring.

Framing Day 43 - Plumbing Breather

Surely they could have done a better job than this. The types of screws used will lead to early corrosion.

I have raised this with my SS, and I wiall also ask my independant inspector. Silicon does not last for ever, so it's a matter of time until leaks start.

What it looks like from underneath.

Framing Day 41 - Lots of progress.

It had been a week since we'd visited the site, and my boys were very happy to watch the progress made.

Lots of progress had been made, across multiple areas.

The major gas line into the house has been done.

I'd specifically asked for this to be square.

The view from the Spa.

Plumbing has been done.

Probably the worst job I've seen.

Drawf wall being waterproofed.

The dwarf wall has been removed and pillars repaired.

Where the linea boards will go.

We have a chimney!
